Terms of Use - The Imperfect Union

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the website at www. imperfectunion.com (the “Site”) run by Center For Individual Freedom (“CFIF”, “we” or “our”). We reserve the right to update and change these Terms of Use from time to time without notice. Any new features that augment or enhance the current Site shall be subject to these Terms of Use. Your continued use of the Site after any such changes shall constitute your consent to such changes.

As you interact with the Site, we may collect information about your use of the Site. Please review the Privacy Policy if you wish to know more about what data is captured.
Unless otherwise specified, the Site and the content thereon are intended for your lawful, personal, non-commercial use only. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless us, the Site operators, owners and their principals, directors and affiliates from any and all claims, damages or liability that arise or could arise from your use of the Site, your breach of these Terms of Use or any third party rights or your violation of any law.
It is a violation of these Terms of Use to use the Site to violate the law or relevant regulations in any manner, including, without limitation, publication of content which, in our opinion: (i) is capable of disruption of systems in use by other Internet users or Site providers (i.e., viruses or malware); (ii) seeks or apparently seeks authentication or login details used by operators of other Internet sites (i.e., phishing); (iii) or may mislead or deceive visitors to the Site that the Site has an affiliation with the operator of another Internet site.
You shall ensure that all equipment, hardware, software, products and/or Sites you use to access, visit, or use the Site does not disturb or interfere with our operation of the Site, or impede or interfere with others’ access, visitation and/or use of the Site. We reserve the right, in addition to our other remedies, with or without notice, to immediately terminate your access to the Site if such access is causing interference with the Site, our vendors, or our users.
We may, in our sole discretion, suspend, transfer, or terminate a user’s access to the Site for violation of any of the requirements or provisions of these Terms of Use on receipt of a complaint if we believe:

a violation of these Terms of Use has or may have occurred; and/or
suspension and/or termination may be in the public interest.

We may delegate our right to take any action or may act upon any report from such a delegee without prior notification to the user.

You acknowledge that we have not reviewed and do not necessarily endorse the content of sites, applications, destinations or services linked to or accessible from the Site and are not responsible for the content or actions of any such other sites, applications, destinations or services. You agree that any cause of action or claim brought against us must commence within one (1) year after the underlying issue first arose; otherwise, you waive any right to bring such cause of action and such cause of action is permanently barred. You agree that, regardless of where you access, visit and/or use the Site, all issues concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Terms of Use shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to any principles of conflict of laws or choice of laws. Any disputes that result in court action will be resolved exclusively by the Superior Court for the District of Columbia or the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, where appropriate and you specifically consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts and waive any claim of forum non-conveniens. To the extent permitted by applicable law, all judgments or awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket damages (excluding attorneys’ fees) and shall not include any indirect, punitive, incidental and/or consequential damages.
If for any reason a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision of these Terms of Use to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision or portion will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible so as to effect the intent of the parties, and the remainder of these Terms of Use will continue to be valid and enforceable in full force and effect.
The Site is operated out of the United States and is intended for United States based users. The Site may not be available to users outside of the United States. We make no representation that materials or information on the Site are appropriate or available for use outside of the United States, and access to them from jurisdictions where their content is illegal is prohibited. Those who choose to access the Site outside of the United States do so at their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with applicable local laws. You may not use or export any materials produced by the Site in violation of United States’ or any other jurisdiction’s export, re-export, or import laws and regulations.
